A native Glaswegian and graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, Kennedy has worked for over twenty-five years as a musical director, pianist, keyboard player, producer, orchestrator and arranger in most musical genres.

Since graduating from the RSAMD, his career has taken in radio, television, light entertainment, variety, music theatre, orchestral work, touring, composing, arranging, conducting and music production.

Since early this year Kennedy has been arranging, orchestrating and being the Musical Director for the very first "Susan Boyle In Concert" performances in venues throughout Scotland. 

In 2012 Kennedy worked as Music Supervisor, Orchestrator and Musical Director for “I Dreamed A Dream, The Susan Boyle Musical,” with actress Elaine C. Smith and producers Michael Harrison Entertainments. He has also been working on "Between Weathers", a feature film being produced by Aberdeen based b4films. 

Recent engagements include Susan Boyle In Concert, Dance Derby (Scottish Opera/Company Chordelia), UK/European tour of Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds, Tonight’s the Night, a BBCtv Saturday night entertainment series featuring John Barrowman, and the Les Miserables 25th Anniversary concerts at the O2 Arena.
