A Glaswegian and graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, Kennedy has worked for over thirty years as a musical director, pianist, keyboard player, producer, orchestrator and arranger in most musical genres.

Since graduating from the RSAMD, his career has taken in radio, television, light entertainment, variety, music theatre, orchestral work, touring, composing, arranging, conducting and music production.

 

In 2012 Kennedy worked as Music Supervisor, Orchestrator and Musical Director for “I Dreamed A Dream, The Susan Boyle Musical,” with actress Elaine C. Smith and producer Michael Harrison. He has also been working on "Between Weathers", a feature film being produced by Aberdeen based b4films. 

 

Recent engagements include The Car Man for Birmingham Royal Ballet at Sadler's Wells, Friday Night Is Music Night with The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, directing for the 4tunes and Zoe Tyler at the Hippodrome Casino London, co-producing any orchestrating "You Raise Me Up" for Susan Boyle's last album, Susan Boyle In Concert UK and US tours, Dance Derby (Scottish Opera/Company Chordelia), and the UK/European tour of Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds.
